Reset Your Meharry Password
Overview
You can reset or change your Meharry Medical College password using Microsoft's self-service password reset system.
This guide provides instructions for resetting your password if you have forgotten it or are unable to sign in.

Step 1: Open the Password Reset Portal
Using a web browser, go to:
https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com
Enter your Meharry Medical College username and complete the verification shown on the screen.
Select Next.
Step 2: Verify Your Identity
Microsoft will ask you to verify your identity using one of the authentication methods registered with your Meharry account.
Depending on your account configuration, you may be asked to verify your identity using:
- Microsoft Authenticator
- A registered mobile phone
- Another available verification method
- Personal email address
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the verification process.
Step 3: Create a New Password
After your identity has been successfully verified:
- Enter your new password.
- Re-enter the password to confirm it.
- Select Finish or Submit.
Your new password must meet Meharry Medical College's password requirements.
Length: Passwords must be at least 14 characters long.
Complexity: Passwords must contain characters from at least 3 of the following 4 categories:
English uppercase characters (A – Z)
English lowercase characters (a – z)
Base 10 digits (0 – 9)
Non-alphanumeric ( ! @ # + = [ ] { } | \$ % ^ & * – _ : ‘ , . ? / ` ~ “ < > ( ) ;)
Name Restrictions: Passwords cannot contain the first name, last name, or username of the account in question.
Step 4: Sign In With Your New Password
After your password has been successfully reset, use the new password when signing in to your Meharry account and supported applications.
This may include:
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft 365
- OneDrive
- SharePoint
- Microsoft Teams
- Workday
- Blackboard
- Other applications that use your Meharry account
Important: Update Saved Passwords
If your previous Meharry password was saved on any devices or applications, you may need to update it after resetting your password.
This may include:
- Microsoft Outlook
- Mobile devices
- Wi-Fi connections
- Microsoft Teams
- OneDrive
- Network drives
- Other applications using your Meharry credentials
Continuing to use an old saved password may cause repeated sign-in prompts or temporarily lock your account.
Expected Result
Security Reminder
Never share your Meharry password with another person.
OIT will never ask you to provide your password by email, phone, or support ticket.
